Karver turns 3 1/25/2013

Karver has been talking about his birthday for months.
He doesn't care about presents at all.
All he wants is cake! Well, cake and candles!

Grandma Stratton is the official cake maker for their family so we didn't have to worry about that part of it. Kaden made sure he candles since that was very important to him.
This is the first time he had seen the cake.
He was pretty excited!
For months he had put in his order for a Firefighter cake, but at the last minute, and I mean the day before his birthday he said he wanted a Monster Truck cake.
(Due to his newest obsession with Monster Trucks)Of course, Grandma Stratton complied.

Kaden started getting him ready for the party, but he was busy so I got to get him all cleaned up and "party ready!"

Kaden gets the honors. Karver could hardly stand it. Then like most kids his age he sang Happy Birthday to himself. (so cute)

Ready.... Set....... Blow!

The second the candles were out, he "finally" got to pick a piece of candy off the corner and eat it. It took us a few minutes to convince him to take his "Birthday Bite"

Birthday Bite!

He wanted every car and truck on his plate.

He licked off each vehicle and ate all his cake. He didn't eat one bite of his dinner before that, because said. " No Thanks, I'm not hungry"

Presents!

Once he figured out he got to open them all and he was the star of the show he got into it.

We got him his cement truck for the back yard. He was pretty excited!
 We also got him a package of "Big Boy" under wear. hint hint...

This set from Kaden was really big.  Can't remember what it's called, but he loves it!

We had a hard time keeping all his cousins out of the way for pictures.
Brodeyn really wanted to be right in there in the middle of things.

This boy can never have too many trucks and trailers.
Hafens gave him this one he would have been happy with one gift.

Sarah and Marky got him this "Hippoty Hop"
Sarah tried to help him get on to show him how it was pretty funny to see her go over backwards. Kaden did and Awesome job planning and carrying out his party. I was really proud of him and I know Michon was too.  He spent a lot of time cleaning and preparing and making a special event for Karver. In the end he had to ask for some help with a little of the food and we went and got some balloons for some added fun, but really he pulled it off and it was a smashing success! Everyone pitched in inside and out and we had it cleaned up in no time. After everyone left Jeff and did a few things with Kaden and chatted a little bit. Karver was SO tired and overwhelmed by the day. Kaden remembered he forgot to give him his new "Planes" movie so he pulled it out. I got him in his jammies and he pulled his chair in the room himself in front of the T.V. and said he wanted "Popcorns" This is what he looked liked when we left.

That was one successful Birthday Party!

Kaden had told us that night before we left he was going to ask Karver what he wanted to do the next day on his "real birthday' He said Karver had been asking to go fishing and riding in the Rhino. They had taken the horses for a ride the weekend before.
Karver chose going down to Kaden's work yard and ride in the heavy equipment. He said they rode the backhoe, loader and the roller. Then they went and messed around with the horses.
I am so proud of Kaden. This past year has been hell for him. However he has stepped up to the plate as a Daddy in a big way. Karver is blessed to have him and they are blessed to have each other. I am SO grateful that none of us will ever need to worry about Karver feeling loved and taken care of by his Dad.

This is such a fun time in your life, as you enjoy each day.I know that as you grow older things will be sad and hard for you in many ways. But right now we will just love and enjoy your innocence and happy little personality!!
