Our "Phoenix" Grandkids

We have two beautiful Grandkids in Phoenix. To some that may not seem far away but, to us it is way too far. Some years we are blessed to see them 2 or 3 times a year. Some years like this past year once was not enough! They were coming to spend several days with us when we lost Michon. Shawn and Amber decided to leave them home and come alone which was the best choice at the time but, it left our hearts sad because we had lots of fun things planned to do with them.

Ashlyn is 9. She is so cute and sweet. Super smart a little shy but very easy going. She is a talented artist in many forms but, esp in sketching and drawing, Her Momma calls her," Her little  Hippee "and she fits that perfectly!

Ethan is 6. He is also sweet and really smart and tends to worry and analyze things. He is one of those wise old souls in a 6 years olds body. He likes order and organizing and making things make sense. He was the quite the little soccer star this past spring and it was fun to watch him play.

It's hard when we see them so little to be involved in their lives. They have a huge extended family with at least a dozen or so Grandparents that they see often, some daily. They have been blessed with the best of both worlds. Their large family that loves them and surrounds them. They are all close and very involved in each others lives in a good way. One day they are out at one Grandmas pulling fresh vegetables from the garden for lunch and the next day they are with another set of grandparents at the ranch herding cows. They have been to Hawaii and Disneyland more than once and they have learned about real life and enjoyed all of it. They have amazing parents who teach them and have fun with them. but, they don't so much like talking on the phone or Skyping. It's rough to try to get to know them through pictures and a few visits and it has always bothered us how little time we spend with them compared to the other Grandkids we have.

We are so blessed to have them in our lives even though sometimes it seems they are not. I just wanted to make sure that I include them in my history because they are such and important part of our family and we love and miss them so much!
