Camping with the Strattons

A few days before Easter weekend, Kaden told us he was going camping with Michon's family. This is something her family does every year so we figured he would be going. I also knew from talking to her sister Angie that everyone was dreading going without Michon, but also wanting to go and spend time together and keep up the tradition. That's what she would want for all them to do.

Kaden told us we were invited a few days before they were going. Of course if he invites us to do anything we jump at the chance to be included. Things have been pretty tough the past few months. His pain has caused a lot of hurt in our family. NO one is judging him of course. His pain is deeper than any of us can imagine! I know that in that pain comes a lot of mixed feelings and sometimes it causes all of us to hurt. As the mom and grandma my pain extends to him and Karver. I just can't get them off my mind day and night
.
Anyway, we decided to go up and spend a night and hang out with them. Kaden had been after Jeff to ride horses with him for awhile and this would be a good time for that as well.
We went up in the afternoon on Friday. I was worried that we were intruding but, at the same time grateful to be included. Her family is so nice and we have a good relationship with them and have known them a long time so I wasn't worried about that part of it.

It was fun to just sit around and chat and play with Karver. The kids all ran around and rode four wheelers and motor bikes. Casey ended up getting his boys so everyone was excited about that. There were a lot of family and friends in and out visiting so it was a relaxing day. Our Nephew Josh brought his horse up on Saturday so that was fun to have him there.
There are a few people in Michon's family cousins and such who came and kept things going. They were a lot of fun as well. They made Navajo tacos and they were yummy! We spent the night in our trailer and enjoyed Saturday too. We left a little later than planned because we decided to stay for dinner with them. Kaden and Marky, Michons cousin cooked ribs and potatoes. The food was good , the company was good and we got to be a part of Kaden and Karver's Easter weekend. I got to help Karver with the Easter egg hunt and that was fun to do with him. All in all we were really glad we had gone. It was fun and good to spend time with them.

He loved playing with the radio in the trailer

Jeff and I took some of the kids in the Rhino for a little ride.

Casey rigged up some tie down straps which the kids loved!

Karver loves riding with his Daddy! They made this awesome harness to secure Karver to Kaden so if something happened Karver would stay with him and not get thrown. I LOVE this picture. I think Michon would love it too. It shows the tender loving care Karver is receiving and that Kaden is as mindful of Karver's safety as Michon would want him to be.

Ready to hunt eggs!

He wasn't too interested after the first few minutes but, he did pretty good and enjoyed the candy. The first thing he said after was "go show Daddy?"
